Where can I take the IT exams?

There are over 180 Registered LCCIEB Examination Centres in Germany.
To find your nearest Centre go to "Exam Centres" and look for
your postcode.

When can I take the IT exams?

The IT exams are available worldwide on the timetabled dates (see below)
and on demand (contact your local Centre).

How much do the IT exams cost?

Current fees for all exams are listed on the "Exam Prices" page.

How can I prepare for the IT exams?

The LCCIEB have a range of support material available. A free
information pack is available which contains a sample paper, recommend
reading material and any other relevant information. Go to
" Request Info", complete your details, select the exam(s) and
we will send you the requested information.

Below is an outline of syllabus topics for each exam. This together
with the Information Pack will provide you with everything you
need to know to start preparing for the examination.





Using the Internet

Using the Internet is available at Level 1 and is intended for those who
are about to use or are already using the Internet at work.
The syllabus topics for this qualification are:

  • Introduction to the Internet
  • Functions and features of web browsers
  • Using the World Wide Web (WWW) and searching the Internet
  • Using e-commerce sites and web services
  • Using e-mail


Candidates should have a standard of business English equivalent to
LCCIEB English for Business Level 1. Candidates are required to
pass a 40 minute multiple choice examination and to successfully
complete a set of practical tasks relating to the World Wide Web
and Using E-mail.


eCommerce

eCommerce is available at Level 2 and Level 3. These qualifications
are intended for those who wish to develop an understanding of the role
of E-Commerce in the modern business environment.

Level 2
The syllabus topics at Level 2 are:

  • Background to E-Commerce
  • Definitions and Development of the Internet
  • E-Commerce Business Models
  • Market Dynamics
  • E-Commerce Finance
  • E-Commerce Security
  • E-Commerce and the Law
  • Candidates should have a standard of business English equivalent to LCCIEB
  • English for Business Level 2. Candidates at Level 2 are
  • assessed via a 2 hour 30 minute examination.

Level 3
The syllabus topics at Level 3 are:

  • E-Commerce Overview
  • The E-Commerce Website
  • Business Processes in E-Commerce
  • Managing Change
  • E-Commerce and Personnel
  • Return On Investment (ROI) in E-Commerce

Candidates should have a standard of business English equivalent to
LCCIEB English for Business Level 2. Candidates will be assessed
via a 3 hour examination paper.

Internet Marketing

Internet Marketing is available at Level 3 and is intended for
those who are entering the marketing profession, who already
hold a post in marketing, or who are responsible for utilising the
Internet to generate additional marketing activity.

Candidates should have a standard of business English equivalent to LCCIEB

Information Systems for Business

Information Systems for Business is available at Level 2 and Level 3. These qualifications
are intended for candidates who are seeking to increase their awareness
and understanding of information systems within business.

Level 2
The syllabus topics at Level 2 are:

  • Information Processing and Procedures
  • Staffing and Resources within an Information Systems Environment
  • Data Processing, Programming, Software, Applications and Packages
  • Computer Hardware and Ancillaries
  • Networking Information Systems for Business
  • Public Services and the Internet
  • Health, Safety and Security
  • Candidates should have a standard of business English equivalent to LCCIEB
  • English for Business Level 2. Candidates at Level 2 are assessed via a 2 hour 30 minute examination.

Level 3
The syllabus topics at Level 3 are:

  • Operational Responsibilities within an Information Systems Environment
  • Data Processing
  • Programming, Software, Applications and Packages

  • Systems Analysis and Design

Candidates should have a standard of business English equivalent to
LCCIEB English for Business Level 3. Candidates will be assessed
via a 3 hour examination paper.

Website Design

Website Design is available at Level 2 and Level 3. These qualifications
are intended for those who wish to develop an understanding and capabilities
in web site design, either as a member of a design team or as
someone who may be assuming overall responsibility for
a web site.

Level 2
The syllabus topics at Level 2 are:

  • Introduction to HTML
  • Preparing Images for Use on the Web
  • Web Design Applications
  • Document Layout and Presentation
  • The Site Design Process
  • Website Management


Candidates should have a standard of business English equivalent to LCCIEB
English for Business Level 2. Candidates at Level 2 are
assessed via a 60 minute examination and a web site design project.

Level 3
The syllabus Topics at Level 3 are:

  • CSS and DHTML
  • Java scipt Fundamentals
  • Creating Interactive Sites
  • Adding Multimedia

Candidates should have a standard of business English equivalent to
LCCIEB English for Business Level 2. Candidates will be
assessed via a 60 minute examination paper and a website design
project.
